Faith, Fun and Fellowship
VBS runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and ends with our closing ceremony on Friday Evening. Children ages 4 through 11 years old enjoy stories, music, and games while learning all about God.
Kids are divided into groups of 10-15 and are led from one activity to another by a team of counselors.
Activities include:
- New stories and Bible lessons each day.
- Fun arts and crafts related to daily lessons.
- Short movie clips about our central VBS theme
- Lots of fun songs including one especially-catchy tune that everyone sings along to at our closing ceremony.
- Outdoor play, including a water day with sprinklers, kiddie pools, and water tables.
- Snacks that vary daily and connect to our central VBS theme.
Volunteers make it happen!
Want to help make VBS a success? Consider volunteering for one of the following positions:
- Teachers to bring God's Word to life using interactive, hands-on, and creative teaching (we provide the lessons, you deliver them!)
- Teen and pre-teen counselors (Ages 12 and up) to guide children and assist teachers.
- Kitchen volunteers to help prepare and deliver snacks.
- Counselors for music, movies, and outdoor play.
- Counselors to assist teachers in our Pre-School classroom.
About Vacation Bible School
Our VBS curriculum is developed by Group Publishing, a national provider of learning resources for church ministries. VBS brings Jesus to life through simple lessons, fun crafts, and games that all tie into one single, fun theme.
Kids experience a new them every year. For example, in the summer of 2010, kids at Cross of Glory embarked on a "High Seas Expedition" to experience the deep rolling waters of God's love. This nautical journey featured everything from tall ships, to friendly sailors, and hidden treasures.
